The Embassy wishes to announce that a team from the Philippine Claims Compensation Committee Secretariat (PCCCS) led by Secretary General Minda Calaguian Cruz is arriving soon in Kuwait to locate Gulf War claimants. The United Nations Compensation Commission (UNCC) has set 30 September 2006 as the definitive deadline for the final location and payment of unlocated claimants.
124 unlocated claimants are believed to be in Kuwait. For this purpose, the public may inquire from Ms. Beng Oviedo-Lavarez of the Assistance to Nationals Unit at:
